Their daughter, Alma Catherine Daisher Dunkel, was the mother

Before discovering this website, I had no knowledge of our Yoder(s)
roots beyond my great grandmother Yoders. The efforts of all who
contribute to this site are very much appreciated. I cannot thank
you enough for all the wonderful information you continue to share.
I would especially like to thank:
1) Chris Yoder who answered my initial email and referred me to Donald Honeywell.
2) Donald (my 4th cousin once removed) and his wife who welcomed me into the family with unsurpassed warmth and have provided me with our family's roots. We continue to share information and are blessed to have such devoted and dedicated cousins.
My grandfather was Gay Andrew Yoders, the son of James L. Yoders and Dora Arthilla (Johnson). He and his wife, Clara (Denny) greatly influenced my life - as did my Boord grandparents. They taught me well and were wonderful role models. They both were a source of strength and encouragement and provided me with my Christian foundation for which I am eternally grateful.
My parents made certain that regardless of where we lived due to my father's Air Force career, we visited our grandparents at least once a year - naturally all the family congregated at their homes. Because of this, I am privileged to have memories of 5 of my 8 great grandparents. My father's mother, Helen Mundell Boord, is now 97 and living near Waynesburg, PA where I was born. While visiting her this September, I learned that my Yoders roots are also deep in that part of the country.
I feel blessed to have vivid memories of the Johnson Reunions and my great grandmother, Dora Johnson Yoders (1891-1952). I have come to know her well from her lovely book of poems.
We all have a heritage that is invaluable. My genealogy research is increasing this awesome heritage for both my and my husband families.
The wisdom and depth of our older generations is often overlooked for various reasons. This website is bringing "precious memories" into the lives of all of us.
Keep the "stories" going with your families - write them down if necessary - it is the best gift you will ever give them.

In response to Shelly Cherry's questions below:
From a review of census records...it appears this Lillie could be:

d. ? 7/2/1910 (d. Mabel b.1890 m Calvin Heim)

OH1328124- George A. (c1877- )
OH1328125- Ellen M. (c1879- )
As you can see, we don't have marriage data for her or her siblings, and would appreciate any that you may know about.
As to Fred Miller Yoder, here is what we show:

Stephen Ray Yoder asked about the meaning of the name "Yoder"
Articles in both YNL 1 and 2 on St. Joder (Theodore) speak to the possible origin of the name "Yoder". If it is true that the name came from the surname Theodore...and according to a dictionary for the name:
Theodore
Greek meaning "God's gift" (and my wife certainly agrees)
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Chris

Not sure about that ID#.
Need to place my Yoders on the right tree! My Solomon is NOT the
bishop yet I have the same b. & d. dates! Mine m. Elizabeth
Sherman, d/o Simon, Jr. and a Miss Liddick. I have him as s/o
Peter Yoder and Catherine Trout. All family records have this
as the line of descent. But, I don't see this family anywhere
in your records. Yet, they come from Berks/Schuylkill Cos. I know
they came out of N.J.with Abraham as the progenitor---but where
does HE fit? Berks Co.History gives his father as GEORGE!!! The
mystery deepens! -Dee Dupuis
